ATTN K1200 RS/GT OWNERS
If your bike dies after start up, dies the 1st time throttle is opened, hesitates after taking off from a stop, or gets terrible gas mileage. take note of the following service bulletin:
Service Campaign13 00204 057 covers affected 03/04 K1200RS/GT models. If the owner complains that their bike resists throttle input during cold start or warmup then exchange the ECU. 2003/2004 K1200RS or GT models produced up to and including April 4, 2004 may be affected.
Only properly maintained bikes that exhibit the symptoms described above will be eligible. At over $700.00 a pop for a new ECU, owners that have these problems should contact their dealer as soon as possible referencing the service campaign noted above. This campaign is a silent recall by BMW. In other words if you don't say anything there not going to tell you.
