Rode the 97 R1100RT down to Guatemala two summers ago. It has the 3 spoke solid aluminum wheels. By the time I got back the wheels looked like someone with serious issues had taken a 20 pound sledge hammer to them. I had to replace both. Took the 95 R100Rt down the previous year. It has 5 spoke solid wheels. Not sure if they are steel or aluminum. They were unaffected by the same journey. I'd like to take the 97 back down but not if it means an automatic $500 bill (used) to replace them once I get back. Anyone know if there is a 5 spoke or old school multiple spoke wheel that will fit on the 97?
