I recently bought a 1986 K75c that had been abused. The bike was not in good condition when I bought it, however it did run good. As I started cleaning the bike, I decided to take the battery out and do some cosmetic work under the seat. When I started putting the bike back together I tried to connect the battery backwards causing a spark...now the bike will not start, the horn will not blow and the directionals do not work. The instrument panel lights up and when I press the starter button I hear a click...thats all...I replaced the battery...and the directional relay.....still nothing...have I caused some irrepairable damage? Thanks for the help.

Check all the fuses on the left side just in front of the battery. Make sure the plug to the computer is fully seated. You should hear a distinct click when it seats. Did you disconnect the plug that goes to the rear of the fuel tank?
