Just wanted to relieve some of the excitement building up the past few days... Today I take delivery of a '08 R1200GS from Nick's BMW in DePere Wisconsin. I am about 120 miles away so I'll be taking my '81 Kawasaki to the Greyhound Depot in Milwaukee then by bus up to DePere. Then riding back to Racine, exchange the GS for a ride back to Milwaikee to retrieve the Kawa. The Kawasaki I bought new back in '81 and will be keeping it around for a quick trip to the store, etc.

Already have vacation scheduled for the BMWMOA ralley next year. :wave

Nice bike! Have fun. Is it snowing yet?

And, here I thought it already fell over and you had to pick it up. Silly me. You meant go pick up instead of bend over and pick up.

Hope you're out there having a blast on the way home, RJ!

When I picked up my GS last year from a private seller in WV, I rode it all the way back home to Vermont...and kept going into Maine. About 9pm the rain started, so I pitched my tent and dreamed of riding.

You're going to love this bike!

I'm back to Racine with the GS in the garage. It was a wonderful ride home from GreenBay/DePere. They had a full tank of gas in the bike so I only stopped for coffee a couple of times.

No buyers remorse. I'm positive that I made a good decision with this purchase.

A SUV passed me by and I noticed a BMWMOA sticker in the rear window, so I caught up with them and exchanged a wave.

I'm going to have a cup of coffee and go sit by the GS and day dream of the next ride. The temp was in the forties today, with the wind protection from the boxer engine and the heated grips, I had a comfortable ride home. I was wearing my RalleyPro 2 jacket with the liner.
