If anybody with a K75 with the exhaust pipe that ends with a triangle is sick of the smell of your exhaust I met a guy at the Central Cal Autumn Beemer Bash who has a machine shop and designed a exhaust turndown just for our K bikes. I got one and installed it and have not picked up the smell of my bikes exhaust since. I commute 60 miles a day 5 days a week. If you are sick of the exhaust smell when touring or just riding around town check out his web site WWW.MILLPRO.US

I've never noticed it to be a problem.

Me neither. The web page specifies the RT, which makes sense that exhaust could
get trapped in the pocket in certain conditions. But i never heard of it before this.

Maybe if you go slow enough. Which is why I have never noticed it.:bolt

I, also, have never had a problem with fumes. And the K75 muffler tail always has a triangle whereas the K 100 has a square tail: triangle for three cylinders, square for four.

I think this is a solution looking for a problem.

I've noticed it quite a lot on my '93 K75RT. In fact one day a few weeks ago it was so bad I felt as if I was getting a sore throat. I mentioned this to another K75Rt rider at an Airhead Tech Day and he said he never noticed it.
However, this past weekend I didn't notice it at all. It was very windy. Maybe it depends on wind direction, rider size. As I'm writing this I remember it is most noticeable when I spread my legs to catch a breeze on warm days.

I'm tempted but I'll leave that one alone!

I just bought a 1993 K75 RT two days ago and the exhaust smell is terrible.
I presume it is just an airflow situation.
I am going to remove the bags and see if that changes it.

Okay okay, I know this is off-topic, but I just have to ask...

How do you pack the picnic table?
