When my Progressives wear out, I'll try the HD's. However, for now, and especially after reading "Twist of the Wrist II" by Keith Code, everything makes sense, and everything is working. The new front springs, rear shocks, and Metzeler's really have improved handling, and with Code's book, confidence. I'm going much faster thru the turns, yet more upright because I've shifted my body way over towards the center of the turn. There are some turns where I feel most of my weight is on the outer peg, and I'm hanging onto the bike with the inner thigh of the outer leg. I wish my R90 gas tank had knee slots so I could hang on better.

Also, the Metzeler's stick. I called them, and they said that they change the "sport" compound of their ME 33 and 99 every couple of years depending on the feedback they get. The Conti's I had before on dewy mornings were scary.

Now, on to the gear forum to learn about Gerbings.

Thanks again.

But I rode my R100RS for the better part of 3 riding season with worn out suspension and bad tires. Putting on new Koni's, adjusting them for my weight and riding style, then putting on new tires (Metzler's) made all the difference in the world. This is probably the easiest and best thing you can do to an airhead to improve the ride and handling.

I wouldn't say I ride more agressively, but I will say that I ride much more confidently on my bike now, since it corners superbly, and is like riding on a rail.

Agreed, Brad. And since I updated my F650 with a RaceTech front end and an Ohlins shock, it's much more COMFORTABLE as well. IMHO, suspension upgrades are the biggest bang for the buck in motorcycling, with the possible exception of Riding Schools.
