Site visit in Redmond Oct. 24th, 2009

The membership is invited to visit the site of the 2010 BMW MOA national rally.

Several of us will be at the Deschutes Fair and Expo Center in Redmond, Or. on October 24th at 10:00 am. We will be touring the grounds with several of the committee chairs, board members, and representatives of the Expo Center. If you are in the area and would like to see the site or are interested in volunteering please feel free to stop by and take the walk about. We will meet at the main entrance.

The open session of the BMW MOA Board meeting will follow about noon, also at the rally site. More information about the board meeting is available on the home page. :bikes

Whats changed at the rally site sine 2001?

The only major change since '01 is a cover over the small arena and there is a lot more commercial developement in the area of the Expo Center. Motels, restaurants and the like. There is discussion of bridging the gaps between some of the livestock buildings with fabric for shade. This is not a MOA plan but an idea being considered by the site as a permanent improvement. These areas, if they come to pass, would not be available for camping but would be available for sitting or visiting in the shade.
