I just got an email from Racetech announcing new products for BMW's. They've got a pretty good reputation.

I've been talking withn those folks too, about building my own shocks. They are good and have a dedicated BMW guy working shocks. I'm watching:). Sure need somebody doing this, without costing an arm and a leg to buy'em. Randy:thumb

So does anybody know about what percentage of my arm or leg or both a set of these might cost?

Paul - dunno.
I tried looking at the bike specific pages, but my anti-virus wouldn't let those pages open.. said they had MalWare infection. I sent them an email alerting them to the possible problem.
I suspect 1 arm probably.. :wave

You can buy parts for your existing stock shocks there:). I wanted a different spring rate and the cost was right above the 100$ mark for the spring alone, with certain shims for certain BMW models. The guy had the formula's all worked for weight, etc for my GSA1200. I am interested too, in learning more about the more expensive valve bodies! If you wish to beef up your stockers, a spring may be your ticket, taking into consideration your valve body may find the heavy spring a bit taxing? A ton cheaper than the 2000$ Ohlin/Wilber option! Not a fair compare? Right, but somebodies got to try to compete at these prices:). Euro shocks are killing us and our buck is sooooo weak to those guys way over there, it appears...Takes a lot of 'em$$$ to buy that stuff:(....Lets get some more Great American Inginuity go'in on over HERE!!! :thumbRandy

Once they establish their pricing, it might be worth while to inquire into a "group buy". I would think the possibility of mitigating their startup costs with a relatively large "presale" could possibly result in a significant price break.
They have a good enough reputation that I wouldn't hesitate to buy a new product from them, sight unseen.

WOW, makes a set of Ohlins seem like a cheap alternative!
Speaking of Ohlins, for anyone in the New England area that is thinking of upgrading, Max has a special deal running through the end of the month, too bad I bought mine a couple months back... http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/service/October09OhlinsSale.html

Hmmm... seems like they've gotten right into the Euro prices right here in the USA.
At this year's rally in Tennessee, I paid $1578 for a set of Ohlins on my R12RT (Part number BM 503 was $749 and the BM 504 was $829). The price included selection of the appropriate springs, along with initial and final set-up by reps from Ohlins USA, plus installation by one of their dealers (Max Moto from California). TN sales tax was an additional $149, for a grand total of $1727. It was an incredibly convenient way to replace my ESA struts.
