I recently acquired a nearly mint 92' R100RS, however she does need a new rear shock. I would appreciate any suggestions on replacements. I'm trying to locate a Progressive rear, but I haven't had any luck. Any suggestions on shops or aftermarket that offers discounts?
Thanks in advance,
Wayne

Hello,
I'm in the process of ordering a monoshock for my 86 R80. Should be the same part. You may want to give Bob's BMW a call. I was looking for a Works shock and they suggested to go for a Progressive.
Good luck

I just ordered a Hagon for my R100. It looks like a good shock for the money. Plus they are immediately available from the US distributor. Here is a link to his site Dave Quinn (http://www.davequinnmotorcycles.com/cgi-bin/webc/home.html) .

Hello Wayne,
Thanks for the information. Checked out the link that you provided and it gives much food for thought. As I live in the Great White North I have time to do my homework on the subject.
Could it be possible for you to let us know how your new shock performs.
Thanks.
PS: Did you have to provide them with your weight, riding style etc.

I also had to replace the rear shock on my 92 R100RS, silly me, after 140,000 kms I just used the bmw shock that originally came with the bike, same spring, new damper !
