Great help with my question last week on electrics-vest/gloves....thanks.
As said, just got this fine machine with 50K...front and rear shocks appear to be original and are long gone....Progressive front I have been told but have had no recommendations for the twin rear shock? Will be ridden daily/mostly solo and frequent trips on the BlueRidge pkwy and WVA rides~170 lb. ~short legs-still has stock seat that is rather hard--seat mods?
and one last thought---used to have barbacks on an old R100/7~ are these still available anywhere??
thanks again and safe riding

on my dual rear shock airhead i found Works Performance to be a great deal, about 400 for the pair, 5 years ago.

recently got a YSS monoshock for my 84 ST, have also been very happy.

Shop around. Flea Market (link above on this page), ebay, craigslist, swap meets. You'll find some.

I recently replaced the original shocks on my R60/7 with Hagons for about $225. The Hagons are nothing fancy to look at but are a marked improvement from the old shocks. In combination with new progressives in the front they make the ride and handling much more civilized. I got the "standard" springs with the shock. I weight about 175 lbs and springs feel about right. There are also heavy duty (stiffer) springs available.

+1 on the Hagons. I've had mine for about 5K miles and am very happy with them. Solid and affordable.
