Any threads out there for removing plastics aand or procedure for changing the rear drive fluid on a 2005 R1200RT. This year does not have a drain plug, just a filler plug. I knoe I have to pull the drive assembly off and speed sensor. Any good points would be GREATLY appriciated. Jim, Wilmington NC.

Just take a look in the subforum under hexheads for all the gory details you'll ever need on the procedure... A veritable treasure trove, thanks to Semper Fi and Deilenberger.

No tupperware removal to change FD fluid. Technically, it's not correct to say your '05 RT doesn't have a drain plug on the FD. It does have one; it's just that it's located at the 9 o'clock position forcing you to swing the drive downwards to permit it to drain (this also allows you to lube the splines at the same time).
