I have been riding bmws 45 years and have NEVER done any of my own tech work. I teach cabinetmaking/drafting and can build almost anything house/wise but working on my beloved motorcycle scares me to death. I think if I had a "supervisor" on my first attempts, I would be much more confident in working on my bike. Where does one get help in this area? Are there classes available? I live in southern california. The tech articles are fantastic and well explaned...it's confidence I lack.

Get out your anonymous book and start making some early evening phone calls. Look for someone who lists mechanical assistance and tools. Make a friend locally and offer to share your knowledge and skillsets with those of the mechanically gifted.
