God bless Jim S

Rest in peace AJ S

This thread has been modified after getting new information about AJ's passing.

It's changed out of respect to his family.

PM me if you need to know why

I think I should call Kenny but unsure what to say.

Red, you're a parent, right? You'll know what to say.

I lost a son who was 24. Call your friend and tell him you just discovered that his son had died. Don't worry about what you say. It will be far more important to your friend that you called, cared, remembered his son and how you feel about it; than what you say.

We are not guaranteed tomorrow. I know I would appreciate hearing from an old friend. You will know what to say and will be glad you called. Maybe get together over a cup of coffee if you live close enough.

It doesn't matter what you say, it matters that you call.

You have a good heart, the words will come.

+1 to what Bud said.

I'm a retired Army chaplain. I can't tell you how many times I had to meet with parents whose son or daughter had just died. I never went knowing what to say . . . . but the words did come.

I lost a twin brother at age 20. Just under 2 years ago. It didn't matter what people said to me. It only mattered that they were positive and cared.
