I just heard the 2010 RT is going to be a R1300RT and is going to look more like the K1300GT. I couldn't find anything on the BMW web site. Any one have any news or links?

Heard the GSA would go to 1250, too! Maybe even an extra Cam thrown in there, for the ever increasing HP phenom everybody seems to love. Why, is beyond me. Wrong direction, as I have no desire for bigger is better! I want the HP war to go away and keep them about where they are today, or even a slight reverse trend, to a minimal degree. Lets get something that gets really great mpg's and still can perform? Its been said the knowledge is there, but NO, we have to keep making HP geeks go faster! A 1300 RT seems right in line with Japan and all their fantasy rockets. I'm old, I know and this is one older man's perspective, so be it! Still the avg. MOA'er @ 57:). Randy:thumb

Sierra BMW seems to believe in the R1300RT and the R1250GS, they already have them listed in the accessories selection menu.

Could not aggree more, the HP race is a misconcieved racket. People are being brainwashed into buying bikes with enormous top speeds yet out on the superslabs thier usual cruising speed is no higher than 75 mph because of the real world reality of speed limits.
I am seriously considering a 900RT engine conversion on my 1200 RT simply to sweeten it up and make it more every day practical.

I really like the power my RT has, but more is all ways fun. I hope they don't ruin the riding characteristics and fuel mileage of the bike by making it bigger. I like how far I can go before I need gas. Much farther then most bikes.

What I really want to know is what it looks like. I heard they're changing it to look more like the GT. Hope not.

I hope there is a style change. To me the R1200RT fairing is the three "B"s;

Big
Bulbous
and
Butt-ugly

I just hope they don't use the cobby, silly looking handlebars from the K12/13GT.

I don't need more power but I do like the looks of my 07RT. I think it's way better looking than my old 00RT. I think they should update the bike with a comfortable seat. That would be progress.

I'd like a decent helmet lock, a tankbag base lock, and a BC that's visible in bright daylight. Otherwise keep the RT as is for a few more years.

The RT is one unique bike. Beauty is most definitely in the eyes of the beholder! People, and all bikers, come up to take a look!

My local dealer said they have their 2010s on order, RT & GS, and they are still 1200. We shall see...huh?

Jeez, did the designer that turned the Z3 into the Z4 have anything to do with this? :banghead

Never owned one of the RTs but they look nice. Now, how about that mpg thing and some tire tech for 20000 mile tires? I know the hard/soft rubber thing already, so save it. Just with a pretty new bike like that RT, how about some really exciting NEWS! We move so slow in this world, with all the high tech out there? Randy:thumb

Thanks Dean
Like the new looks for the most part, but it looks like you have to take some plastic off to change to oil and I don't like the new exhaust pipe configuration.
