My Final drive is currently in its last shaved metal gasps.
I have sourced another but with a different gear ratio.
My current setup is a R1100RS 94 with a 34:11 Ratio,
The replacement has a 31:11 gearing.

Good people of the list,
Are these components compatible and if so what would be the changes in performance I may expect from the new ratio.
Is this an advisable swap?

Thanks

it should fit with no problems. but check with others first before taking my word for it. as far as the differance in gear ratio...there I can help. the 31/11 is a taller gear. thats the same gear I have in my 99 RT. it will lower your RPM's at all speeds, which should improve your gas mileage. however if you like to take off real fast or do wheelies :brow you may not like the taller gear. Hope this helps. Kenny...

Thanks Kenny,
I guess that puts paid to my career as a R1100 wheelie artiste..... Damn!

Any real negatives anybody knows of?

Thanks

Jerry.

If your bike is loaded down you might need to slip the clutch a bit more to get going.
