It cooled down dramatically in Houston as well - the high on Saturday was around 85, with the morning low in the low 70s.

Sorry about your weather, but Fall does start this afternoon.
It's 82 here, going to 92 tomorrow. Might have to take a mid week sneak and do a little photo shoot on the Going to the Sun.

It's been a hot summer here in Southern Oregon, Can't wait for it to cool down.
Two months from now I'll be complaining about the snow and wishing it would
warm up.

Autumn officially arrived at 4:14 PM here in the upper Midwest. That was fifteen minutes ago - the same time it started pouring with the first significant rain in a month. Dammit. :hungover
What was all that white stuff, flame retardent? The stuff we use down here is orange.
105 and the place is burning down, again...
(We have 4 seasons too, Fire, Flood, Earthquake & Drought...) :laugh

My daughter coming to Alaska in about 3 weeks, she's pretty excited about it.
I'll wait and visit next summer, looking forward to seeing Alaska, have never been there.
Thanks for cool pics.

We have had 59 days in San Antonio of triple digit heat this Summer. On Monday, as I left work, it was 97 degrees. Yesterday, about 20 minutes after the onset of Fall, as I left work, it was 64 degrees. What's up with the weather?:scratch

No! That has to wait until most of your bikes are stored in a snow covered garage, and I am complaining about having to ride when it's only 60 degrees!!!:stick

So, Hugh, I'm traveling to San Antonio in early December for a conference. Should I wear my flip-flops?

That's the great thing......might be 80, might be 20. Although it is much more likely to be in the 60s during the day and the 40's at night. So, for you, yes.....flip flops will do nicely. I see your northern bretheren on the Riverwalk each Christmas, wearing shorts and proclaiming how great the weather is, while I'm thanking the heavens for that down-filled leather bomber jacket and thinking about a Winter home in St. Croix.

Maybe you might want to add a sidecar to your bike. then you can have fun in the snow without having to change vehicles. I am just about to start a project to build a good sidecar rig that will have 2 wheel drive. Once completed, I plan to use it in any weather except floods. Maybe I can figure a way to make it float and have a simple conversion for a propellor. :scratch Now that would be sort of different.

There are folks up her who ride in the snow all winter long. There are not very many of them. They tend to be a self-limiting group.

My personal observations of this year's weather patterns is that they seem to be a month behind. We've had March weather in April, April weather in May, etc. Like Rinty said, we were in the 90's last week which is more like August weather. My fingers are crossed and hoping that this apparent trend continues and that I will be able to ride into December.
