Hi, I have 86 k100 and removed the instrument cluster to fix the gear indicator read out , I wanted to start the bike ,and when I tried to start it I had to pull the clutch even though it was in neutral , it was hard to start and ran lousy , I didn't want to ride , just start it, out of curiosity is the cluster part of the fuel injection system?
Thanks
Brian

It's got a circuit in it that enables the start if the bike is in neutral. Otherwise, as you noticed, you have to pull in the clutch. There is no effect on the running of the engine.
