Speedo lights on R1100GS 1999

Any hints on changing the speedometer / Tach lamps? I was at the Central ADV rally last weekend (Great Time) and found that the speedo lights were out. Very dark out there in the north woods at night. I pulled the windshiled and was wondering if I have to pull the headlight. I removed the 2 hex bolts that hold the front of the cluster down but I still does not move much. Can see in there but can not get a hand in there. I do not want to "pull too hard and have something snap or come unplugged. Any thoughts to keep me out of the dealer???? :violin

It sounds liken it is the same as my 95 R1100gs. To take the cluster apart you will have to remove the 2 10mm screws (which I believe you have done) headlight bezel 3 screws and headlight. Behind the headlight there is a phillips head screw towards the top of the housing, remove this screw this is the one holding you from getting it off. After the screw and 10 mm bolts are removed just wiggle it a little and it should come right apart with out a struggle. Good luck John

So, once we get in there, we should replace all the bulbs, right? :)

Thats up to you its not all that hard to take apart.
