Hi there!

I'm a new BMW owner who's been eyeing these old bikes for some time. Anybody know where I can find the paint (and paint codes) for the Dover white with black pinstripe? I'm thinking about repainting an r90 in these colors.

I saw those codes listed on a site last year. Not sure where but I think it was either Blue Moon or Vetch, but might have been the guy that has a /2 restoration page.

Also should be able to get paint code (theirs not BMW) from Carquest or other paint store.

This may help, but I cannot find URL to the other restoration page, but it has been posted here (BMW MOA fourm topic Vintage, but entries only go back to last month) before. (I can picture it in my mind but cannot find sorry)

Jeff Dean has some good pictures of Dover White BMWs. Here's one:

On this page he says that the Dover white paint color is GM paint code #059, 1980 General Motors frost beige (PPG #3087).

Kent Holt at BMW in Athens, OH, is one of the premier painters who uses Glasurit paints.

Even though it says cars, go through the process and select BMW motorcycles and it will pull up information on white paints.

You might try yer local auto body supplier...if they can't come up with the code, they might be able to get real close...
