I am not a business by any sort of means, just did this for personal gain cause I wanted the stupid sticker and no one would make it for me. Well the ball and chain is pretty pissed about the money I spent to do it. :laugh

I couldn't find anyone to make it small enough for me, so I bought a vinyl cutter and made my own. Seeing if anyone else has interest in this. Mine is about a 6.25" x 4" outline nonreflective sticker, I can make it bigger, but not any smaller due to size constraints already (damn you RI.) I could make reflective, but since I am not a business, I don't have a big stock of vinyl, but with enough support for this project I could probably get a hold of some reflective vinyl (runs and hides from wife.) I did it as a personal project and thought I would offer it to you guys. Again I am not a shop, so I will be making these in my off time. I have a couple pics of what I did below. The one on my helmet is not the best quality shot of it because I was lazy after I made the first one and didn't wet apply, so I got a lot of creases in application. That is my fault because of the round surface and my lame attempt at application without wetting the surface, not the stickers. Border was made thick to allow for small cuts, so some states are not see through, but they will color visibly, well except for RI which is a dot... Price is dependent on size. Now for the pics.

Right now I have black/green/red/blue/yellow/orange/white/gray/purple vinyll. Colors can be changed to whatever you want that I have.

I will try to get some reflective, but as far as canada, I don't know how soon I will be making it. The 48 was a lot of time by itself. I will probably do Alaska and Hawaii, but Canada will be awhile. Sorry, just not enough free time with work, the wife, and the new GS.

yeah, I have a list of colors I have available right now in the first post. Below is the color scheme I used to make mine, but I can pretty much do it anyway you want with the colors I have. Had to make Tenn Orange for UT and Louisiana Tiger Gold. I can also go to probably close to 20" wide, don't know that yet. Haven't tried to make anything big. Just send me a pm with what you are wanting and we can work out something.

I am interested as well. To clarify...you would sell this as a set, including the outline map and stickers of all states? I like the idea of putting it on my sidecase, but not much larger than your helmet size.

Yes, if I were to sell this to you, you would get all 48 states as well as the outline for one price. Actually you would get more than 48 states depending on the size you order. I would include multiple Rhode Islands, because the size issue and my complete lack of patience with that state. :laugh

Also, if you ever need any states remade due to loss or other reasons, you could contact me and I could remake them for you and not charge you the entire cost of a totally new set.

We want to play too! :( Could you provide the state of Alaska even if the outline does not have a space for the state?

Let me check, I been working on AK and HI, but I haven't cut any yet, but I may be able to provide a sticker that doesn't include an outline.

I only need the left half, but also need North/South expansion to include Alberta, Yukon, BC and the states of Baja, Sonora and Chihuahua.

Seriously good idea and please post when you figure a price.

I have also seen these (for RV but too big for helmet) for Canada and Europe, as well as Texas and California wit divisions for counties.

reactortrip

Hawaii is about done some that will be included in the set, but they won't have outlines.

I really want to tackle Canada next, but I think it will be a seperate sticker set and not one map. Don't know how soon this will be because I haven't even started the vector file for it.

After that, I will probably go after Europe.

As far as pricing, I think a complete 48 state map with states + Hawaii and alaska state cut outs without outlines will run $33 shipped through paypal.

If the pricing is unreasonable, let me know. I tried pricing one of these out before bought my cutter and it was ridiculous how much they wanted to charge me, I tried to find a good price point for the cost of materials/paypal fees/good envelopes/shipping.

I'm in. As far as reflective goes, just a reflective outline would be fine for me. White is better than black for my purposes.

I will look into getting some reflective and update this thread once I have it in stock. I don't know what the cost of a reflective would be yet, if I can get the vinyl at the same price as my regular vinyl it will be the same. For some reason, the cost is double to triple for refelective from my current supplier. I am going to look around on the net and see if I can get a better deal.

If anyone wants a nonreflective, pm me and I will send you my paypal.

Update, work is pretty much done with Hawaii. I also got some serious help and work is proceeding much much much quicker than anticipated with Canada. It is looking like I will be offering a couple different maps.

USA 48 + AK/HI state stickers without outlines - $33
size of 48 is 6.25" x 4"

USA + Canada with AK/HI outlines - (price will be around $50, haven't cut it yet and not sure of material usage, shipping costs will be higher as well due to the need for bigger envelopes.)
size of entire map is 10" x 8.5"

Canada + AK outlines (that will line up with USA 48) and includes HI outline - (priced similar to USA 48, haven't cut it yet)
size of entire map is 10" x 5"

If you are interested in reflective and would preorder it so I could buy reflective vinyl, than put your name down as willing to preorder. I am trying to get around 10 cause the advrider people are asking for reflective too, but I am not willing to invest hundreds in something I may not sell.

The full map is pretty close to being done, I will probably do a run of nonreflective tonight to make sure it is perfected and the map looks fine, so delivery date will be as soon as I get the cash for the 10 preorders/week for delivery of vinyl/week for shipping all of the orders out.

Price is something I need to work out. I found some better priced vinyl, but it doesn't look like they offer black. I sent them an email to see if they can get black.

If not, I can do a border in white with it.

received some samples for reflective, but I don't think this material is going to work. May offer a map in this material at a discounted price for someone to review and see if it is worth selling.

reflective vinyl is now available. reflective is only offered in white/red/orange/yellow/blue/green. Prices are $5 more.

Review from advrider member:

got em on the back pf my Schuberth helmet -- since you hadn't tested wet application, I went dry.

Two notes -- it wasn't entirely pleased about conforming to the compound curvature of the helmet (small wrinkles at the California/Oregon border and somewhere near Maryland), and the stickers grip HARD! This is good, but makes accurate placement of the states pretty tough (see pics) -- I would recommend you test wet application, at least for the states (though it may help conform to compound curses, too) . . . .

High quality stuff, sir -- the blue and green reflect similarly, but I don't see that as a downside -- feel free to use the pics, or I can send em to ya!

My verdict, two thumbs up (and I've got two!)

Curvature and indents are due to applying it to the helmet, it's a big sticker and probably impossible to apply dry to without so indents to the borders on a helmet. Mine is messed up to, but it's not noticeable unless upclose. It's better to apply to a flat surface. I was afraid to do wet app because the borders would probably screw up from moving it around. State stickers are hard to apply correctly on the mark, it's small so getting them lined up exactly is a tough job.

Here is some pics.

This seems a popular item:). Is the wait long to get this? Love the idea and will order too, for my Jesse bags. I have to figure what to do with all my current stickers on the bags to make room! This may give me a good reason to consolidate, as I have to do something for lack of room for more stickers. I have about 35 states to fill already, for my new GSA has been getting around:). Thanks, Randy. I'll be back soon to order:):thumb:thumb

Been getting a few "are you still around?" questions.

Yep, still here, just took a winter break. I have a new vinyl supplier which will allow me to lower my prices some. Here's the breakdown. Feel free to pm me questions.

Reflective 48 = $31
Reflective North America = $46

Non-reflective 48 = $26
Non-reflective North America =$41

That's with shipping, if you buy multiple subtract $3 from each additional map.

I can also do some one off custom vinyl as well. I can't really compete with large shops that do large orders though.

Here's a little project I have been working on for myself. The BMW G50X. LOL. We have some local fiddy races and I wanted to do something a little different.
