... for the awesome DIY pictorials on RT plastic removal and GPS wire routing.

Installed my Zumo/Migsel mount Sunday. Piece of cake. Without the DIY threads, I'd still be at it. Not good at puzzles.

These pictorials are way better than every factory shop manual I've dealt with, which always seem to leave out a step or two or are just generally incomprehensable.

Did a 150 mile SF Bay Area coastal loop with dinner and the girlfriend to try out the gps. Very slick. The Migsel mount does allow it to bounce a little bit, as reported by others, but not enough to interfere with readability. Really not a problem at all.

I wired the fused Zumo harness straight to the battery, since I haven't installed an accessory fuse block, and don't anticipate any more accessories. (Yeah, I'm sure everybody says that at first.)

Any downside with the straight-to-the-battery wiring?

You're welcome and thank you for the kind words, I am very glad you found the DYI useful and informative! :thumb

Nothing wrong with direct connection - just don't forget to shut off the GPS when you shut off the bike

My thanks also for the RT1200 rear fluid change. The directions posted by Semper FI took all the mystery away. I was very careful and it took about 45 minutes. Save a LOT of money!!!

I noticed that my '09 RT has factory stock rubber mirror tethers, so now I don't have to mess with cable or fishing line.

I thought that was nice.
