I taking a radio out of my 84 R100Rt, I was told it a good quality radio. I just don't understand why you would want a radio in a Airhead? How many riders have a radio in an Airhead?

I do. But, it's usually not on unless working on bike. Or maybe a long slab trip.

i've never really got the whole "motorcycle stereo/cassette/cd with loudspeakers" thing in general. it just seems way obnoxious, what's wrong with headphones or earbuds?

I would rather listen to the beautiful music that my airhead makes going down the road. I did try using earbuds a couple of times, but found they filtered out way to much of the surrounding sounds and made it difficult to hear the police and ambulance sirens. Maybe was too into the music :scratch

I've never considered listening to music while riding, even crossing the States. Just never seemed consistent with my intended riding experience and purpose...

I almost always use my i-pod when on the GS. Just don't turn it up real loud. I did however buy SHURE head phones $90.00 but worth it. I hardly ever use the i-pod while on my 1970 /5 because no other music can compare to the music it already makes. as for uncontained music I don't care for hearing others when they pull up to a stop blaring out of the fairing.
