Greetings,

I've been fortunate enough to acquire a cherry new 2004 Montauk and am hoping to benefit from the kindness of strangers in the following areas:

Handle Bar Risers/Extenders: I need to go about an inch back and an inch up. Any recommendations?

Lower Seat/Sissy Bar: I need a slightly lower seat and a sissy bar? Any recommendations?

Lighting: I'd like to outfit this bike with HID and LED kits, if possible. Any recommendations?

General Wisdom Any general wisdom about the bike? I'm familiar with the clutch set up and how that can affect getting into first gear.

The Chromeheads site has a ton of info for you.

I have the opposite situation with my handlebars. I have the "ape-hanger" bars that came standard with the '01 Montana. I'd like the lower bars that came with other bikes.

Ditto.

Risers: Several options, I love my Hookijac's.

Seats: Just got a Bill Mayer Saddle, and I love it!

Lighting: Some very creative solutions over at Chromeheads.

Everything else: Lots of experience at Chromeheads!.

Any seat that fits the C also fits the Montauk. There is a BMW "low" rider seat you might consider.

You can read more about seats on the Chromeheads forum Product Reviews section.

As my predecessors have noted I too will add to it and say C'mon over...
In a few days there won't be strangers! Nor will you.

Ha! Ha! Join the crowd! :D

My advice is to create a search on ebay and save it so as things get posted you get an email. But do your research.
Some folks over pay or buy something for a "C" instead for the Montauk/CL/CLC.
Some parts don't mix and match.
Chromeheads has a whole section on that issue.

After you are a member of Chromeheads, say hello in the new owners section.
Then start your own thread in the wanted section.
Many folks are willing to oblige and will even steer you to someone who has whatever you may need/want.
If it's a need to get it running many folks will offer solutions.
For "farkles"... It's first come, etc.

If you see something you need jump on it.
As this model sinks slower and slower into history so are 3rd party accessories.

Research is the key!

Again, welcome to a great ride!
Post some pictures of it in the appropriate sections here and on Chromeheads!
