I'm in love with my K75S but getting old. I'd like to convert it to a C or standard or sell it and buy a standard K75. I have read numerous folks who say they have made that conversion. But when I look at it, the cables don't look like they'd reach a higher and wider bar.
Any thoughts or anyone who has done this?

I could be wrong( happened at least once!), but I think your K75S bars are the same as those used on early K100RS'. I put the C bars on my K100RS with no change of cables, but I did loosen the tie wraps under the tank to gain a bit of wire harness length. I only had to swivel the front brake hose a few degrees on the master cylinder, done without breaking the seal, just loosen enough to turn the banjo fitting.
Slide the brake/throttle and clutch assemblies onto the bar before you mount it to the top clamp. You can shift the bar side to side to get them on.
The C bar is a good ergonomic change, about 1.5" up and back and a bit wider, but still fits well with the look of the sport fairing. You can locate the standard C switch panel (you gain an extra switch slot) to accomodate the rise in the bars, or trim the ends of your stock panel.

Barbacks are an option too. No hassle with the dash, and my creaky 56 year old bod
is happy with them on my K75S.

Converting to a C model may be prohibitively expensive. What is your budget for doing the conversion? I went from a K75 standard to a K75C

I did a changeover to the C bars on the S - and I also added barbacks (up 1", back 1"), Very comfortable, used the C cables for clutch and throttle. The whole conversion was a few hours of work.
I really like the S but because of the low bars I thought a lot about a C conversion. It's not practical unless you love a lot of work - you're better off just finding a nice C if that's what you really want. But I would urge you to consider the S with C bars and if you need more then use barbacks as well. The look of the bike is very nice with the C bars, and you have the advantage of the beautiful fairing on the S as well as the very nice advantage of the rear disc brake. I have logged thousands of miles on mine with this set-up and it is very comfortable. Last year I did 16 hours in a single run and no back pain at all - and I'm 62.
The S is a hell of a nice bike - C bars will make a big difference.

I rode a K75S from 1988 - 1997, and pretty quickly replaced the stock bar with a C bar. I agree with the previous posters: this was a large improvement, made the bike (for me) much more comfortable. I would not have ridden it nine years otherwise.
I did the change too, at first to a regular "C" bar. Just needed to snip and replace some zip ties and readjust the brake banjo bolt. Later I added heated grips and found that at the time the K100 Standard heated grip kit came with a bar almost exactly like the K75 C bar except a tiny bit wider and with bar ends so I bought that. Loved them both. Later when I bought a K1100RS I also did the K100 Standard heated grip/bar upgrade (believe it nor not, it was just $9 more than a "C" bar alone...)
Now I ride a K75RT and find that extremely comfortable. I've seen several K75S bikes with RT bars, looks a little goofy but seems to ride just fine. I am pretty sure the only riding geometry difference between the high seat C, S and RT is the bar itself.
Edit - found a pic of a K75S with RT bars:

Folks, please try to restrain from making deals, or telling each other what you have for sale in the tech forums. It isn't allowed since we have the Fleamarket specifically for that purpose. If we did allow it, the Fleamarket would quickly become worthless, and the tech sections unreadable and much less useful.
If you feel you HAVE to let someone know you might have a bike for sale - PM them. Do not post it here - it will be removed and you may receive an infraction. And it really isn't necessary to tell the world that you PM'd them - they'll know it since next time they log on to the forum a window will pop up telling them they have a PM (and they may be setup to receive email notification of a PM also.)
Thanks for your understanding and cooperation!

I would appreciate if someone could post a few pics of their K75S with K75 C handlebars.
If someone has barbacks or others, that too would be interesting to see.

This is not going to be a lot of help, but you asked for pics of other bars. Just shortly before they stopped being available (6 years now ?), I bought these adjustable bars from Heli.

Sorry, you would have to buy or steal the bike from me to get these bars away from me.

Update:
I ordered my brand new C-bars and all the replacement cables required for a proper and safe installation. I even kept my A&S bar backs as it is my intention to also install them for a very nice upright riding stance.:thumb
I will post some pictures after the complete installation.
I even got a "used" K75C dash pad for the "full-meal-deal".
Standby for further...:type
