I took off the air box and throttle bodies for cleaning and now I am unsure that I have the spark plug wires in the correct order. The Clymer manual says the wires are supposed to be labelled but how do I know they are on the correct coils.
The front most coil is connected to cylinder 1, the middle coil to cylinder 2 and the rear to cylinder 3.
Does anyone know if this is correct? Bike won't start but did run rough before I cleaned the airbox, I have pressure at the fuel rail and installed new plugs, air filter and fuel injectors.

This bike is a wreck I bought off e-bay, I have replaced the frame, air filter, battery, spark plugs and will complete repairs on the fairing after I get it running.

Thanks in advance

Dan

from Haynes manual .... coil for #1 cylinder has black/blue wire, for #2 has black red wire and #3 coil has black green wire. Hope this gets the thing running again. :dance

If all you did was remove the T/B's to clean, then the sparkplugs wire shouldn't come into play. Do you have spark? The wires if not swapped around have #1,2.3 stamped on them. 35634 has the right wiring for the coils.

I would look at the air flow meter connector and possibly the fuel pump connector( if it's dangling down, you may have upluged it when refitting the air box) Just a few suggestions. When all done, check that the # 3 (or is it #2) T/B clamp is not holding the throttle open. But always look where you have been last...

Do you have a noid light to test for injector pulse?

I went through the troubleshooting mantra last night and found the injectors were not firing because the connector under the tank (blue) was not plugged in.

Of course by that time I was double checking everything I had done so the airbox was back out. Once I tickled the mass air flow sensor to simulate air flo she fired right up. :dance:german

Thanks to all, and yes the coils connect in the same order they are mounted in, front coil to No.1, Center coil to No. 2 and rear coil to No. 3 cylinder.
