I am trying to relplace the fuel lines (2 long vent lines) inside the gas tank on my 94' R1100RS. I have found some tubing at the local Auto parts store that will work inside the gas tank, but I wonder about the pressure. Is there any pressure on these lines?

No pressure, they mate with hoses on the fuel pump plate going to carbon cannister(if equipped) and the overflow drain down by the brake pedal. just need to be fuel resistant tubing. And crimped well at the connections in the tank or it will leak at some point!

was your bike dripping gas?

No dripping gas. The alternator belt broke and while I was doing some work on the bike (70K) I thought I would replace the fule lines. I found the fuel filter was bad (split in the top). The fuel vent lines inside the gas tank had some cracks, nothing all the way thru but I want to change them out.
I found some clear yellow gas line at the local auto parts store that will work inside the gas tank. They say everyone uses it inside weed eater gas tanks. Its just a little thiner in wall thickness. So I guess it should be ok then ?

It may be fine, but I personally would not use it. the black tubing is not that expensive and it's been used a long time. The biggest issue is to get a very tight connection from hose to metal tubes inside the tank regardless of what you use.

I have installed Tygon F-4040-A it fits perfectly and here is what the company that makes it says about it " Designed to Resist Hydrocarbons
Specifically designed to handle most fuels and industrial lubricants, Tygon® Fuel and Lubricant Tubing resists the swelling and hardening caused by hydrocarbon-based fluids. This significantly reduces the risk of failure due to cracking and leakage. Its minimum extractability safeguards the liquid or vapor being transferred against adulteration.
Because it’s extremely flexible, Tygon® Fuel and Lubricant Tubing simplifies installation, even in tight places. It is translucent yellow for positive identification and to allow easy flow monitoring. It is routinely used to handle gasoline, kerosene, heating oils, cutting compounds and glycol-based coolants."

At $1.40 per foot and a great fit , this might be good deal. Only time will tell.
