Lots of new earthquake activity in central California... Mt St Helens in Washington state is getting ready to blow again, and the volcanos in Hawaii are more active than has been normal...
Should I be investing in ocean front property in Nevada? :idea

I think the coast should be safe for a while now. I think the real danger is when nothing happens for a long time. Then suddenly all h*** breaks loose. Lots of activity means the pressure is off. But hey, if you want to speculate on the Nevada real estate, you just never know.

Anyone want to start an Earthquake pool? NOT a poll, but a pool. Much more interesting. $5 for a 12 hr block?

Or...Arizona. I read when this news story first broke that they were sending some scientists to the top of Mt. St. Helens to gather some data. How would you like to have that job?

I am headed to SC monday for a two week course on some new equipment. I am sure if the big one is coming, I will surely trigger it while I am there.

Oooo! I like that! I used be in a "Ghoul Pool" when I worked in a large office building in Philadelphia in the early 70s.
A "Ghoul Pool" is where we'd form a group and each person chooses a "likely" prominent personality for expected expiration in the near future. Only one person per individual. Then, each week we'd each throw $5 in the pot. When a personality pick croaked, the person who had chosen the decendent then collected the whole pot.
There were times I saw the pool grow a couple thousand bucks and other times you'd have two die in one week and the 2nd person got zip because the pool that week had been dispersed to the previous "winner".
They had monthly newsletter that was very entertaining.
Maybe you could call this one the "Lava Pool"! I'm in if you do it.

Scientists have just discovered the source of the rumblings at Mt. St. Helens; a gigantic fly has emerged from the Volcano and is looking for a gigantic garbage can.
