Hi. I am a new member to this forum. I originally posted this thread in the airheads list, but nobody responded. Thought maybe the Vintage list might be more appropriate.

I was just at the VRRA Vintage Festival in lovely Mosport Ontario, and stumbled across the Ozzie's BMW tent in the pits. Gorgeous bikes sitting all perdy in a row....but it wasn't until I got home and looked at the pictures that I noticed the bevel-drive heads a la RS54 Rennsport on the two (beautiful) sidecar rigs sitting there (#'s 1 and 3). I've searched the internet for details - just for the sake of knowing - but found nothing . Anyone know anything about these Ozzie's bikes? Are they real Rennsports? Sexy no matter how you slice it, but it would be cool to know I was so close to something so special.

Picture didn't upload. Sorry. Hopefully the link above to the airhead thread (with the picture) works. G

The only Ozzie I know is Ozzie's BMW of Chico, CA. You can get his telephone number from information or the internet. He would be glad to answer your question.

I would guess that one or both of the rennsports belong to Dave Percival. DP Motorsports. There only a few guys campaigning the old stuff.

The #1 bike is Ozzie's. He and his son Ralph campaign it. I just saw the bike in his trailer a couple weeks ago, when I was visiting his shop in Chico (I needed a headlight bulb for my modern bike). It's a beautiful piece of work with BIG Dell'Orto slide carbs and velocity stacks.

It's the real deal, I remember when he brought it home from Germany, he had been trying to get his hands on it for awhile. A rare piece of equipment and very nice at that.

All the bikes in the Ozzie tent were gorgeous. You could have eaten bacon and eggs off either of the Rennsports they were so clean! Beautiful machines. I love my R80....but I think I could handle having one of those Rennsports.
