I met up with a couple of other RT riders in the town of Lee Vining, CA. It's
on the other side of Yosemite National Park and sits on the edge of Mono
Lake.
Stopped on Highway 120 at Lake Don Pedro. In the summer, houseboating
is popular.

The scenery in Yosemite is the only redeeming quality worth the transit
of Tioga Pass. There's no high speed and you're often stuck behind some
RV that won't move.

Arriving in Lee Vining, the first order of business is to check into the hotel
and then grab a seat on the back porch and have a brew. Supplied by
my bud, John. Ice cold too. Boont Amber--mmmm tasty stuff.

Dinner, more beer and sleep.
Next day, we set off in different directions. Me to Mono Lake,
the June Lake Loop and Mammoth Lakes.

A few of the many reasons to check this place out.

Saturday Night spent on the patio at Bodie Mike's. Many beers into the
evening and a GS pulls up with a couple of inmates aboard.
We invited them over to our table for dinner.

After dinner, time to settle into a chair on the back porch for a little
after dinner Jack Daniels. Hmmm...tasty.
On Sunday, it was time to head home. I have never seen so many HD's on
the road as headed up 395 towards Tahoe. Damn. I quit waving after the
first 100 or so :D Over the pass and towards Sacramento and finally home.
Nice way to spend a weekend.
