3:00 PM on Saturday, September 12th at the Jacksonville, TX scenic overlook. Located 5 miles north of downtown J'ville on the east side of Highway 69.

This is a "bring your own eats" affair. Rest rooms and water are available.

We'll sit around, eat, tell lies, and enjoy the view for as long as folks want to stay.

For precise navigation, the coordinates are:
32deg 01' 47.50 N

These are off Google Earth, so if you get lost, talk to them.

See ya there!:wave

Some of us are also planning a short side trip to The Monument to the Killough Massacre (http://www.texasescapes.com/Ghosts/Killough-Massacre.htm)

The Killough Massacre was the largest Indian depredation in East Texas. The bodies that were found were buried at the site, and in the 1930s the W.P.A. erected an obelisk made of stone to mark the location. In 1965 the cemetery was dedicated as a Texas Historical Landmark, and the area is now enclosed by a fence with a small parking lot beside it.ou

You do not have to go far in East Texas before you find your self surrounded by some fascinating History. Looks like it will be a great day.
