I found this in a search but what I need to know is the reverse of this. In other words, I need to take mine out first so I can then put the new ones in. I've looked and cannot see if there is a tab somewhere that I can push in to slide the core out of the housing. Has anyone changed their locks that can comment? Thanks.
The little cylinder should have a tab at the end of the assembly. This tab is used to hold the cylinder into the plastic lock housing.
Put the key into the cylinder, and install the cylinder into the plastic lock housing. There is a matching opening for the tab which will allow the lock cylinder to mount flush. Then turn the entire lock cylinder to the right until it stops. That should captivate it. You should be able to turn the key back to the left 90 degrees, and remove the key.
Ps. I'm waiting for the new locks to show up. I don't have them in hand yet.
