View Full Version : Front Peg Lowering on RTP

Just installed a front peg lowering kit on my 2K R11RTP The center stand is OK but the side stand interferes with left foot placement. The end piece of the stand now extends above the footpeg and my heel rides on it, actually pushes the side stand down a bit. Looking at the fiche at both Max BMW and BOBs BMW, it appears my side stand is different from the civilian model. I like the sitting position with the pegs lowered. With my legs a bit more extended, there is weight transfer from my hip bones to my thighs. I really don't want to remove the side stand as I prefer it for normal parking. (Center stand is for maintenance in my book.) It would appear my options are:

Replace the RTP sidestand with a civilian model - At almost $150 (part 14 from diagram #46-0371) I need to know that is all I would have to replace (using all other existing hardware) and would that solve my issue.
Modify the RTP sidestand with a grinder - ouch
Bilge the idea of lowered pegs and return the kit or sell it if they wont take it back - any body looking for a kit at a reduced price?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
