My 96 K1100LT had a nice little knob on the end of the handlebar which when tightened would hold the throttle grip in place. . Is such a device available for my 91 K75RT?

Hi Larry - I think what you had may have been a throttlemeister - I have one on one of my bikes and like it a lot for cruising.

My '87 K75S has a small lever on the underside of the throttle grip - I flip it with my thumb and it locks the throttle for cruising. I checked when I acquired her and throttlemeister does not make one for mine.

I hope this is useful info.

not positive, but i think you are seeking item #26 on this http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=0573&mospid=47906&btnr=32_0764&hg=32&fg=10 page. if correct, it is a spring loaded tensioner screw that is easily adjustable, and places varying degrees of tension upon the throttle. I'd double check with a parts dept before ordering.

Ken: Thanks for the lead. Went to their website, and the K75's weren't listed.

I had a big twist grip on my Wes Cooley GS1000S but I was hoping to find something more subtle...

Hi, Larry,
I've got a couple or three of the throttle stop screws. I'm in Dallas with my daughter. I'll e-mail you when I get home and we can meet so I can give you one. The K75 throttle housing is drilled and tapped for the screw; the K1100 isn't. I just checked both REALOEM and Max's online parts and on both, the part number for the throttle stop screw has been deleted. It hasn't been on the "approved" list since the Joan Claybrook days (My late wife called it the "Joan Claybrook Memorial Screw"). I have an old K75 fiche AND a fiche reader. I may be able to come up with a part number when I get home. I believe the K-bike screw is a bit longer than the airhead screw. The screws I have are probably airhead screws, but I think they will work. I think there is interference on the basic bikes with the mirror.

Just to add my 15 cents worth - the throttle screws you speak of are actually a diagnostic tool to hold open the throttle during tuning procedures (so I've been told)

Throttlemeister does list several K100s, I'm sure one of them would fit the K75. I've
had one on my S for 15 years and love it.

The little lever is called "Flip-A-Lever". I had one on a K100LT. I also have Throttlemeister on a Honda ST1100. I liked the Flip-A-Lever more than the Throttlemeister and it was 1/2 price. I don't know if it is still sold.
