I am wondering is anyone who has a R1150RT with the extra large lids can tell me if they can hold a full face helmet or a roadcrafter one piece suit?

I can get my 'Stich in a side case without the extra large lids. I take out the back armor first. Then fold, then put into case.

I have a Schuberth Concept and it will not fit in the top case, nor the systems cases with the large lids. The Schuberth appears to be a little larger than some of the other helmets so maybe some-
one else can let you know if their helmets will fit.

My concept helmet fits in the top case. You have to lay it on it's side in the middle. Try it it works.

Matthew517,
I stand corrected, it does fit. However, it does have pressure
when I try to close the lid. Since the face shield mounting re-
lease is under pressure will this cause any issues with it?
Thanks,
Gerald

I put mine in the protective bag when I put mine in the top case.

i cannot get my helmet to fit iin the side case without using a lot of force. i have tried the Shoeii and HJC. There might be a trick i am missing though because this guy came in the shop and he was able to fit a Shoeii in the left side case. i couldn't repeat his trick.:dunno

I ride a '02 1150RT with standard side cases and a top box. I can store my full-face helmet (size large) in either side case or the top box, with some room to spare for other things; gloves, cell phone, maps, small things. I don't think BMW changed the size of the cases. You don't have the BMW city cases do you?

The older system cases had different size case lids that you could buy. I have the standard size on mine and can't really get my full-face in very well if at all, but my dad has the larger lids that I can get fit a full-face into. Is it the same with the oilheads? BTW be careful about putting pressure onto those cases with a helmet inside. I busted the rear vent thingy off of my Arai Quantum/f while trying to force it into a case. 13 bucks or so to replace a hunk of plastic.
