Can a 1985 K100 have a low seat fitted and a low shock. My K75S has each and I can flat foot pretty well. The '85 K 100 model I'm comparing is the one with the same mini fairing as the K75S that I own.

As an aside, the 1992 K75S is a 70 HP rating, and a '85 K100 is a 90 HP engine?

The 85 K100 had a bunch of pieces unique to that year, including the seat. Any low
seat would have to be custom made. A shortened shock shouldn't be any problem.

THe HP for the K75 is correct, I believe the 85 K100 was rated at 100, and later years
at 90, The early ones had hotter cams.

To install a BMW low seat on an '85 you'll need to replace the tail section with one from an '86 on. The battery covers are deleted with the low seat, so simply remove the unique to '85 items.

Early K100s had 90 horsepower, later ones 82. You can determine which you have by the sticker under the seat (if it's still there). I think the 82 horsepower versions are also stamped US on the left front engine mount, just above the valve cover. 90 horsepower bikes will say 49 states on the sticker. Thse extra 8 horsepower make a surprising difference; the 82 horsepower bikes have more low-end torque and less vibration, but they don't pull nearly as hard at higher RPMs.

How much will the BMW low seat drop the bike versus the standard seat? The tail portion would be removed and replaced with one from '86 to '92? I believe the Progressive on my K75S lowers .75 inches, so I could pick up another like I'm already using.

Why is evryone so intent on sitting on the bike with their feet both on the ground? I would never give up the ground clearance/lean angle, suspension travel, proper geomtry, ect. for the brief few moments I spend at stop lights! You are going to have to lift your foot up to put the silly thing in gear! (unless what, you sit there with the clutch in the whole time, in which case I'd like to be your mechanic) If you are really that afraid of falling over maybe other sports beckon. Sorry for the rant.

Progressive makes ( or used to) a rear shock that is an 1 inch shorter. As another said the 85's seat is unique to that year, you'll either need to find a used seat and have a custom builder strat from that or pay to have a pan made.
