I see that there are kits out there for moving the right side Fuel Evaporator Cannister forward and tucked away behind some body work.

From what I understand, its main purpose is to capture fuel fumes from going directly to the atmosphere.

Anyone just disconnect it and get rid of the Cannister? My guess is that there might be a closed loop system involved and disconnecting any one item will throw everything off.

If you go to the IBMWR website, there are instructions for the cannisterectomy. It is easy to do, and doesnt affect the peformance of the bike at all.

Thanks. I'll go over there (I have them under FAVORITES). Might be a nice Saturday morning project.

Trex- you need to head over to the Pelican Parts website (http://forums.pelicanparts.com). there is a very active/lively/informative/entertaining forum there that is specific to the R1100S. and just a word of advice- before asking about evap can removal, cat eliminators or anything else- learn to use the search function. have fun, ride that bike like your ex-wife's lawyer is chasing you, and cya on Pelican!

Thanks. I came across those guys the other day and they know what they're doing. See you there (too).
