I had just made a post (#11) in "rants, issues & soccer moms" and I see this special report on TV. The woman last week who was driving the mini van the wrong way on the Taconic Parkway and was involved in a head-on collission, KILLING HERSELF, FOUR CHILDREN ON BOARD AND 3 OTHERS IN THE OTHER VEHICLE......WAS DRUNK!!!! Her blood-alcohol-content was .19, she had undigested alcohol in her stomach, a broken bottle of vodka in the vehicle.....and TCH was also in her blood which means she had also been smoking marijuana.

As a retired cop, I have no problem what-so-ever with these drunken idiots crashing and killing only themselves, but when they take innocent people with them.....

God, why don't people learn!!!!

According to my classmates last semester, it's cool to drink and drive. They were comparing DUI/DWI stories. Laughing, talking about suspended licenses, friends who don't have their licenses, being arrested. It was a real hoot to listen to them, let me tell ya.

I would have ripped their heads off if I wasn't so blinded by rage.

Amen! Every DUI I arrested was one less T/C looking for a place to happen.

Not anymore, but it use to be the DA's practice, that if the suspect plead on their "first" offence (Yea, meaning it was the 1st time they got caught), they would get a "wet reckless" on their record, rather than a DUI. At least those days are gone.

She was loaded....at least according to the autopsy.. something like equivalent of 10 shots of some type alcohol in her stomach and THC in her blood... and a bottle of some liquor found in the remnants..
