Give me your opinions on what front tire to get to replace my quickly disappearing Metzeler E33 Laser on my '76 R90S?
Does it matter that I have a Bridgestone Spitfire 11R on the rear? Should I put a Bridgestone on the front?

I'm running a Dunlop 404 front and a recently mounted Spitfire on the rear. Just finished a 3200 mile trip. No ill effects noted. Handles fine, rain included.

What size is the 404? My Laser is a 3.25x19.

I went and checked it and I was mistaken. My front is not the newer Dunlop 404 but the older Dunlop Elite III (K491) in a 100/90-19. HTH

I am on my second set of Avon Roadrunner tires on my 81 R100RT. The front is the AM20 3.25X19. I am pleased with the handling and wear. One tire I tried and did not like was Michelin. It barely lasted 6000 miles and the tread scalloped. There was plenty of tread left but the odd wear pattern made it unsafe.

When I got my 84 R100T (used), it had a Laser on the front and a "Perfect" on the back. Replaced them with Lasertecs and have been quite pleased. I know some folks don't like the Metzelers, especially the Brazilian ones (I've had both German and Brazilian and have seen NO differences between them in looks, wear, handling, or otherwise), but I've had good experience with them. Run them on three bikes right now.

I like matched tires and I like the Spitfires on my airhead. They wear well and have good grip. So I would replace the front with a match to the rear.
