I have a Bing carb, # 64/32/9. It's the left carb on my 1970 R75/5. With help from a previous post, I was able to locate and fix an issue I was having. Now, when I reassemble the cover of the choke assembly and tighten the four screws, the disc inside the cover is putting so much pressure on the body that the choke lever is totally inoperable. The lever is totally frozen. I need to loosen the four screws back a quarter turn each to relieve the pressure and get the lever to turn.
I reassembled the right side, # 64/32/10. Tightened the four screws and it works perfect.
Any thoughts or ideas?
Thanks

If it was working before (with no excess pressure) and it isn't now, I can only think that it's assembled wrong or something has been left out...like a gasket or o-ring. As you said the one side is fine but the other is not. Maybe take the working apart side-by-side with the tight one and see what the differences are?
