Can anyone let me know what is the oil capacity of the rear swing arm/final drive of a 1974r90/6. i had a leak in the swing arm boot on the way from my house in massachusetts to central mexico. i fixed the leak en route and added gear oil, but i can't remember what the exact amount is, and i don't want it to be under or more importantly overfilled. also which drain plug should i use, the one closest to the swing arm or the one near the rear. thanks for any help. the question is only relatively urgent as the weather here is 80 degrees and sunny and i am sipping a margarita and if i get stuck, then oh well!

I have in my hand my original Technical Data and Service for US Models manual for my '78 100S. There are some differences between our machines but IIRC the swingarms should be nearly identical aside from the forward gusseting on the later arm and the built-up construction on my brother's '74 90S.
Oil capacity (SAE 90 Hypoid) for:
Swingarm/driveshaft housing: .15 US Q (5.12 oz)
Final drive: .25 US Q (8.32 oz)
Drain plug for swingarm is at the juncture with the final drive and actually part of the final drive casting, fill plug directly above. Rear end/final drive drain plug is at the bottom of the final drive case, fill plug by the brake actuating arm.
Good luck on your trip and ride safely. Go easy on reinstalling the drain/fill plugs since the unlikely chance (Murphy's Law you know...) of stripping or crossthreading one could have you sipping margaritas for awhile!
