On the gauges of K75/100 there is a red light that warns you of low fuel.

What is the red light to the left of the fuel warning light for?

I think its another low fuel warning light. A "YOU REALLY NEED TO GET ME GAS" light.

I disagree, because last year I drove my bike untill it ran out of gas and it did not come on.

The instrument cluster was introduced with the first K100 models. These early bikes had an in-tank fuel level sensor which lit one light at (I don't know if these numbers are correct, but the concept's right) when the tank was down to 10 liters remaining, and a second light when the tank was down to 5 liters remaining.

This fuel sensing system worked poorly, and within a year or two BMW redesigned the in-tank sensor and changed the display so that only one low fuel light would come on. They didn't change the instrument cluster, 'though, so from that point (I think it was 1986) on, K clusters have a light position that doesn't light up.

The light that your arrow is pointing to on my 91 K100LT is the ABS warning light. I just went to check and it does light up with the letters ABS when I turn on the ignition switch.

Right. I forgot: on bikes with ABS, the light position is used as one of the two ABS warning lights.
