52nd Birthday in San Francisco area has been fantastic!
We are spending our last night back in the city, spent the first two nites in a 1890s B&B a couple of blocks from Haight and Ashbury, and the last two nights in a cabin North of here on Stinson Beach for my Birthday. The weather has been great, and I'm coming back here with the GS for sure!
Port Reyes and this area has been really really good for me this year.

Happy Birthday, old man! (After all, you're a year older than I am.)
Let us know when you're coming back on the GS and we can perhaps show off some of the less obvious roads and places...

Happy Birthday, Red. Glad to hear you're enjoying the vacation -- the bay area has always been one of my favorites.

Thanks everyone for the replies; California made for a great birthday location, going to have to do that again!
Although I never saw 20 dollar bills fly so fast outta my wallet!
Seriously, I could think of worse places to retire! At one point way North of SF, we stopped at a roadside fruit stand, and everything was like twice as big and twice as tasty apricots, cherries, big fat old sunflower and pumpkin seeds, almonds, plumbs the size of basketballs...
I was having fantasies of retiring there, opening me a fruit stand, taking the tourist's $20.00 bills, and riding around on my motorcycle till the big guy calls me in...
munch, munch munch...must of gained 15 pounds on nuts and seafood!:eat
