This happened last fall on one of my commutes back to RI from VA. Those of you who have ridden through Connecticut on Rt 95 know what the traffic can be like. On this trip I was sitting at a dead stop for several minutes when I saw a rider on a GS heading up the breakdown lane. Since my bike was overheating I decided I'd follow.
After a mile or so the breakdown lane disappeared so I had to merge back into the parking lot. The other rider started to white line, something I never do, so I held back. About 20 miles later I decided to pull off at a rest stop and call the wife and explain why I was running late. I saw the GS rider had pulled in and was getting off his bike.
After calling the wife I headed into the rest stop as the other rider was coming out. He stopped, shook my hand and said, "How are you doin'?" I replied in kind and asked how he liked the GS. Naturally he loved it and explained that he was riding up from NYC and heading out to the Cape for the weekend. We talked a few minutes more then parted. As I left I said, "It was a real pleasure to meet you Lawrence." Yep, he was Lawrence Fishburne. You never know who you'll meet on a Beemer.
