View Full Version : Coffee/breakfast at the Vanilla Bean, Pomfret CT. Revised, when and where for Sept?

A couple of us who have been corrsponding here on the Forum thought it would be fun to see who might show up if we met up on Sunday July 12th at the Vanilla Bean Cafe in Pomfret CT. (http://www.thevanillabeancafe.com/). There are always a bunch of bikes there on a Sunday morning so many of you probably know where it is.
Anyway, Sunday morning July 12th, who's in?

Just a quick bump. This is probably a good send off for folks heading to the National in Tennessee as well.
Nothing formal but it will be fun to see who shows up. I will be riding the '95 R100RT classic. See everybody there. :wave

My son TJ and I enjoyed meeting everyone and listening to some of the stories. The Bean is a great spot to get together we'll definitely make the trip again. It took us about 1.5 hours to get home from there with light traffic and a brisk pace. We have a spot here in the northwest corner called Toymakers that is comparable. Its located in the town of Falls Village off route 7 and always has a large motorcycle crowd on the weekends. Although service is alttle slower than the Bean, the food is very good.

I'm a bit torn between going to Brit Jam with one of my Nortons or riding down to VB on the RT. Since I'm feeling too lazy to clean and prep any of the British iron for a show, I think riding the Rt to VB is going to win, that and the fact I just installed the Ohlins shocks this afternoon and I'm itching to take a nice long ride with good suspension finally!

My wife and I rolled in at about 11:30( two up) . I missed all the BMW riders but did run into my neighbor from Warren. We took 49 back to Westerly and hit the beach at Watch Hill . That cold water was a great reliefe from the heat. Great ride home via RT 1 and through Newport. I vote for a new location for the next gathering. Two Bean rides are good for me this year.

Well.. my son and I were looking forward to the VB ride, unfortunately; I had a couple of stones get in the way, kidney stones that is . I was feeling better by Sunday but a little concerned about taking a long ride. We decided to stay local and hit Toymakers in Falls Village. There was a decent turnout there including a few Brit bikes who didn't want to spend the day cooking in the sun at the Brit Jam. Sounds like everyone enjoyed the VB get together.. We'll catch the next one.
