I have about 2500 miles on my 2004 R1100S and I noticed that I maybe burning some oil. I had to add about 1/2 quart of oil after about 2500 miles. Is this normal? I drive it pretty fast and hard, could this be why? I don't want to hurt my baby, so any help would be thanked!

1/2 quart in 2500 is nice and low. Basically you can add some at 3000 and change at 6000. No problem.

Normal.
My S drank it when I rode it hard.

It would only be normal if your rings had not fully seated. My wife rode her 03 Prep 7600 miles in July when we went to the National & used 2-3 ozs total. Bike had 6k on it when we left running 20/50 synth blend. Don't baby the bike or you'll be burning oil for ages. Run it up into the upper RPM band regularly & the rings should seat in fairly quickly. This will also clean out the carbon which tends to build up in the Oilheads if babied.

Thanks for the advice! I do get on it all the time, and have a lazer exhaust w/chip. I really love this bike! The only thing I would ever consider getting rid of it for, would be the new K1200S.

What are you using for oil?
