Just ordered about $600 in new parts from Chicago BMW. They discount all parts 20 percent. I saved about $120, which is pretty signifigant.
However after a post on Advrider I understand they are notoriously slow in getting orders to their customers.
Anyone had good/bad experience with them?

The bigger parts order Chicago BMW submits to BMW, the better their discount, which they are passing along to you.
You have chosen to participate, and your foot tapping means you hope there are lots of guys like you ordering from them so the quantities required for the "big order" appear sooner rather than later.
By law they can't charge your credit card until anticipated delivery to you is within 30 days, so they are just as motivated as you.
Faster service means small orders means faster shipping means more cost.
You didn't think there was something "special" and benevolent about all this, right?

I've ordered from Chicago BMW in the past, and it did take them a while to get me the parts. But, I wasn't in a hurry for those parts anyway. Overall, I have no problem with Chicago BMW, and I would order from them again, but only on orders that are not pressing.
I've had good experiences ordering from Chicago BMW and I will do so again when I need parts and trinckets.

There is a germaine post script to this. It starts out like this....When in doubt, go to the source. Journalism 101 some would say.
I called Chicago BMW to find out why their customers were complaining about long order times.
Parts man told me since they are no longer advertising the 20% discount ( BMW Law). As a result they have scaled back on their macro parts orders, meaning they are ordering twice a week from the US distibutor ( does anyone know where the wharehouse is? I have some dark clothing and a ski mask).
As long as the parts are in the US they arrive at their shop in a week. I'll hope for the best on this.
I also learned the Multivario Tank Bag I ordered for the R100R is NLA, at least according to C BMW. The rest of the stuff I ordered (parts man checked for me) is in the US.
So, I called Bob's. They had 1 remaining tank bag in stock ( maybe the last in the US for all I know) and sold it to me at the 2005 price! Parts woman told me she would sell it at their computer listed price, not the 2009 SHOCKER amount.
In the end, I got what appears to be a well reasoned explaination from Chicago on the status of my order and ended up getting the tank bag at an even cheaper price than before.
I hope all this is of some assistance to those looking at Chicago BMW in the future. For what its worth, I'll refresh the thread when my order from them actually arrives. Hopefully in a week or two.
Also read my other threads including ..."What kind of oil should I use", " What bike should I buy" and everyones favorite "Tire Question?".

It took one month and a few phone calls but my stuff arrived without issue.
Who can argue with the savings? Just had to wait a bit longer.

if you're not in a rush, i guess it's a pretty good deal.
