Just moved to Maryland and need some routes to check out. Have a '91 K100rs that really needs to stretch her legs after being surrounded by boxes for weeks.

I'm managing to explore a bit, but wondered if any of the MD or DC natives had any "go to"routes or spots around the state? I'm living in Adelphi, between College Park and Silver Spring.

When I lived in Baltimore I spent a lot of time around Thurmont (Rt 77 west). I think the Square Route Rally is in that area. Harpers Ferry and the area around there is nice and you're not too far from Skyline Drive and Va horse country.

Have a look at BMWBMW.org. It's the site for the local club. Post your question on the forum and you'll get lots of suggestions. Better yet, come out to any of the club events and meet some folks in person.

MD 25 North of the Baltimore Beltway. Runs out eventually, but you'll have great time getting there.

Just rode up to Thurmont on route 77, going through the Catoctin Mountain Park. Very nice. Good ride along route 355 and Alt 40 getting there as well!

Yes, I am very excited to be so close to the Skyline Drive. Going to check it out very soon.

Thanks for the advice guys!

Explore the towns of the Eastern shore from Ocean City all the way to Cape Charles and the Bay Bridge Tunnel. A different world.
