G'day. I have an R50 (Gertrude) with frame No 555 817 (Produced February 1956 and delivered to Australian Importer Pratt in Melbourne Australia) and Engine No 558 328 (Produced in March 1957 and delivered to BMW's British importer, presumably in London).
I have owned the bike (originally in Sydney) since 1976 when I purchased it for $50 from a mate and his dad after my Honda 125 SL was stolen. They had bought it from a bloke who rode it across from Perth in the late 60's when the journey across the Nullabour was a dirt track.
I just thought it would be nice to find out where the rest of the old girl is and try to piece together a history of the two machines or even match them up.
