Finally I can say that my bike is ready. I have replaced the front crank seal, the bean can seal, the timing chain guide, lubed the spline, replaced the pushrod tube seals, replaced the rubber grommets/shock absorbers on the instrument pod, bled the front brakes, installed new Metzelers front and back, set the timing and now I am ready to go.
I will go for a ride of about 200 miles to make sure before I set off for Johnson City.
See you there!

If everything you listed was in need of replacement, and you got into the timing chain area for the guide, why not the timing chain too?

Heck, you fixed all of that stuff before you hit the road; where's your sense of adventure?

Some campfire stories are more fun to listen to that to live through. :D

All for a ride of only 200 miles? With all that work you should head for Argentina or somewhere:)

00000 now that is funny I don't care who you are ! Its also TRUE !
After getting the RS back together from a full frame restoration, I had almost 300 miles on it before loading it down and doing a 1,000+ mile weekend trip. After I go over some nuts and bolts it will be ready for the Nationals also !
