Okay, I removed the screw and the spring under the caliper. How to I remove the eccentric pin?

Mark

Remove the rear bolt that holds the front fender mounting bracket to the fork leg. This bolt also holds the brake hose bracket in place.

Take that bolt and, going up from the bottom, screw it into the eccentric pin.. Pull downward on the bolt and the eccentric pin will come out. It's a snug press fit. If it won't come out, screw the bolt all the way into the e-pin and keep turning it until the e-pin begins to turn. You'll see the caliper start to move forward and back when the eccentric pin is turning. That'll free it up and you can try pulling it downward again.

Ah so... The pin turns freely with a screwdriver so that was the tip I needed. Thanks.

I have also had a tough time removine the eccentric pin. I tried screwing a bolt up into the pin and pulling but I couldn't get it out. What is the purpose of the notch in the pin? Is this pin self adjusting or must it be adjusted manually?
My front brakes have a tendancy to sometimes remain tight on the rotor. I'm not sure whether the problem is in the hydraulics, the cable, or the eccentric pin. Any suggestions?

Now I'm an expert. I used a screwdriver to turn the pin a few times to loosen it up. Then I pulled the pin with the bolt and a light tug with some pliers.

Now I'm waiting on a manual 'cause I've got a lot more questions.

Thanks,
I have tried all of the above with no success. This pin must be frozen in place. I sprayed with WD40 and will try again latter. Maybe will consider gentle application of heat to the fork? In the meantime I've taken to carrying an 11mm wrench with me. If the brakes bind up, I loosten the bleed valve to release the hydraulic fluid pressure, (only a few drops of fluid come out) and the brakes work fine. Rather crude, but effective.
I guess that I'll rebuild the whole front brake system this winter (if I can ever remove the eccentric pin).

Have you hosed it liberally with Brake Cleaner?

Take the front wheel off to eliminate any binding the disc may be causing. The calipers should move slightly left and right. If not give them a coupla taps with a rubber mallet. Use a needle oiler to lube between the caliper body and fork slider.

Run the "extraction" bolt all the way in until it seats, and them keep turning in the same direction (clockwiae) The idea is to get the e-pin to spin, to allow it to be withdrawn.
